Shave-Horses, Pegs &
Saw Horses Workshop
May 30-June 1, 2025
When you start building a timber frame, you will need tools, beams, a working design, and some determination.
The next things you need are saw horses that can hold heavy timbers. You will also need a way to make hardwood pegs to put your frame all together.
This hands-on weekend gives you these essentials.
Participants can bring their projects home for a small materials fee.

Timber Framing for Teens
August 2025
This course immerses youth in the art of early American Timber Framing skills, using hand tools that have been effective for hundreds of years. We will learn to saw, chisel, hammer, cut and shape beams into a strong structure that can last for generations. Woodworking, carving, tree identification and safety are all part of this four day program.

Rafters and Scarf Joinery Workshop
September 5-7, 2025
This class is a hands on experience where we 'demystify' the process of cutting rafters and scarf joints. We will learn about the design, layout, cutting and assembling a number of different rafter sets and styles of scarfs, and help you build confidence in your skills.

Timber Framing Skills Workshop
November 6-9, 2025
This course is a shorter version of our Timber Frame Intensive, packed with skills like tenons, mortises, layout, Square Rule principles, rafters, sills, posts, etc and more. We cut and shape pegs, learn to move beams safely and have a great time, including raising our work if time permits.
